7 out of 10 children with heart disease in Kashmir die either because of lack of access to appropriate healthcare facilities or they are underprivileged and unable to pay for such costly and complex surgeries. VMS Specialty Hospital (VMSSH) is working on the frontline to offer hope and healing to these kids by sending them to the best tertiary care health facilities outside Jammu and Kashmir. In order to permanently solve this issue of providing state of art sub-speciality health services , like cardiac and neurosciences for both children and adults ,VMSSH is bringing up a subspecialty hospital to treat them in Jammu and Kashmir itself, saving travel costs and more importantly, the time which is usually of essence is such critical cases.
